Monoplastic 2026 represents a refined exploration of geometric abstraction, where bold black forms and carefully articulated white lines create a striking balance between simplicity and complexity. Unlike more intricate compositions within the series, this work embraces restraint, allowing expansive areas of negative space and intersecting geometric structures to establish a powerful visual presence.
Rooted in Zach Touchon's theory of Monoplasticism, the painting reflects his ongoing investigation into the expressive possibilities of a continuous line. Drawing inspiration from the traditions of geometric abstraction while incorporating the intuitive freedom of abstract expressionism, Touchon transforms fundamental shapes into a distinctive architectural language.
Minimal yet commanding, Monoplastic 2026 demonstrates the power of reduction, where every line, intersection, and open space contributes to a composition defined by balance, movement, and quiet sophistication.
